New Mission
Inkhearties began as a place to host all the folks who were enthralled with the idea of Cornelia Funke's Inkheart novel being brought to silver screen.
Now that movie has made its debut, this site will evolve. Inkhearties will now be devoted to all those ink-hardy fans who love the books, look forward to the film adaptations and fear the worse.
Inhearties, the blog, salutes you!

Inkheart: The Music Video
Aced Magazine reports that a music video for the movie Inkheart has been released. There are many clips from the movie interspersed with video of Eliza Bennett, who plays Meggy, singing the (de rigeur in movies now) power ballad from the film. I watched the video, I think the song was about being "strong" or "standing tall" or "reaching for the stars" or something original like that.
The movie clips look good!

Interview: Brendan Fraser
Interesting interview with Brendan Fraser who plays Mo in the now delayed, "Inkheart."
Fraser on how he feels about being the only American in the cast of the now delayed Inkheart:
"I’m a Hoosier and a Hoser, just for the record, born in the U.S. and raised in Canada. The answer being, I’m very proud to be a member of that cast. That film came together in an epic sort of way. Cornelia Funke, the prize-winning children’s book author and illustrator, sought me out to tell me she’d written a book called Inkheart. She was thanking me for giving her inspiration to write this book because it was about a man who had a voice and when he read aloud elements from the book would come into our world and things would just appear. I was astonished and flattered. Then we had a meeting in Hamburg where I was doing press for the duck and the bunny movie - Looney Tunes - and I went to meet Cornelia and her family, her daughter and son, who didn’t believe I was real and poked me with a stick. [laughs] Anyhow, that became a screenplay and through a long journey it became a movie."

Inkheart Postponed
Probably not the only factor, but the writer's strike takes its toll as New Line decides to delay the release of Inkheart until January 2009.
Variety reports:
Actor Brendan Fraser (Mo) also has two movies coming out this summer.
Variety reports:
In terms of the marketing worries, New Line said it was concerned that the loss of first-run shows would minimize the impact of television spots. It's the first time that a studio publicly expressed such a concern since the strike started.
Actor Brendan Fraser (Mo) also has two movies coming out this summer.
